About

Dr Grogono is a Consultant Cardiologist at Derriford Hospital, University Hospitals Plymouth. She graduated from Imperial College, London in 2007. She completed cardiology training at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford (2014 to 2022) and has been a Consultant Cardiologist since April 2022.

Dr Grogono’s areas of expertise include diagnosis and management of heart failure and cardiac device implants (to include pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation therapy and implantable loop recorders). She has performed over 1000 implantable devices. She is fully accredited with the British Heart Rhythm Society.

Dr Grogono is a member of the British Society of Cardiology and the British Society of Heart Failure. She actively promotes more women into cardiology and is the regional representative for ‘Women in Cardiology.’
She is looking forward to her role in managing the heart failure and device service at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

Dr Grogono has a keen interest in research and was awarded a PhD for her work involving a clinical trial investigating an inhaled medication to relieve breathlessness in patients with heart failure. She has an active research portfolio and has presented at National and International conferences.
